8 days, Marlborough Sounds to Rotorua. Mission brief: fill my 1960 Bedford school bus with a bunch of biggest named wild and humourous lads from Santa Cruz’s athletes, tell them they will be camping wild and washing in rivers, stopping at bike shops and heading out for rides with their locals, hot pooling and appearing as surprise guests at a local enduro. Alaska – Scouting the Alaskan Wilds
2 and then 4 days. Mission: to scout the trails of Alaska’s Kinia peninsular, sleep rough and travel with a local to the area to understand not just the land but the culture and style of these hardy folk. See Article

Swiss alps – Milking Trails
6 days. Mission: to stay high in the alps, discover the milk and cheese making culture of this area, how the trails they have developed over hundreds of years to access the alpine grazing with their cattle are the same trails we now love to ride, We stayed with the shepherds in their sometimes very rustic huts, woke to the smell of wood smoke as the milk was heated, then curdles and pressed into that days cheese to joins the growing collection of summer harvest on the shelves where these golden wheels sit and get slowly turned. Arctic Finland Summer 2017 – Arctic dreams
3 days. Mission: to traverse the Yllas/ Pallas National park, 120 kms. To connect with the locals who have just had their local national park open to mountain bikes for the first time ever, we joined with Annti, the Suunto athlete manager, and local trail builder, Timo, to discover what was hidden within these park boundaries. Huts similar to NZ but free, stocked with wood, wooden cabins, open fires, grass roofs, day one - riding south from Pallas was a beautiful arctic tundra experience, berries, brown and red grasses, Day Two we were hit by an arctic blizzard and this wet snow and driving wind made for a very cold experience, stayed the night in the parks oldest hut.

Arctic Finland Winter 2018 – Arctic Cycle
5 days. Mission: to explore the established winter riding scene, based from Yllas 200 km above the Arctic circle, 3 day backcountry trip, test and create a video of the new Michelin plus tyre for their use in their launch. 35 gears don’t shift, forks are solid, BB high friction, brakes and hubs were fine. Northern lights, so dry, must have a good system for clothing gloves and shoes but otherwise good conditions to work in. It was so fun riding here, like riding down a luge run, scenery was out of this world... the sculptures the snow create, snow giants, are phenomenal and other worldly. See Article
